BALTIMORE (February 9, 2026) BGE is investing in Maryland communities in a continuing effort to make them greener and safer. The company is now accepting applications for its 2026 Green Grants and Community Safety Grants programs, offering financial support to eligible nonprofit organizations working to strengthen environmental stewardship, safety, and resilience across BGE’s service area.

Together, the two programs reflect BGE’s continued commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the Maryland communities it serves through strategic investments in innovative, community-driven initiatives.

BGE Green Grants Program

Now in its 13th year, the annual BGE Green Grants program provides grants of up to $10,000 to support environmental stewardship projects led by local nonprofit organizations. Since its launch in 2013, the program has awarded more than $2.6 million to hundreds of community-based projects. In 2025, BGE awarded more than $251,000 to nonprofit organizations.

Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, have a board of directors, be located within BGE’s geographic service area, and meet additional eligibility requirements. The application deadline is March 22, 2026. Additional details and a link to the application can be found here.

BGE Community Safety Grants Program

BGE is also accepting applications for its Community Safety Grants program, now in its third year. The program builds on the legacy of BGE’s former Emergency Response and Safety Grants program.

The Emergency Response and Safety Grants and the Community Grants programs have collectively provided over $3.5 million to 671 community safety and emergency response programs during the past 13 years. The grants focus on strengthening community safety, emergency preparedness, and neighborhood resilience through collaboration with community organizations and emergency responders.

In 2026, grants ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 are available to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations working in one or more of the following focus areas: Community Placemaking, Safe Space Support and Community Emergency Response and Resilience Building.

The application deadline is March 22, 2026. Additional details and a link to the application can be found here.
