28 Mar CCWD Temporarily Adjusts Services Beginning April 1st
Westminster, MD, March 28, 2024 – The Carroll County Workforce Center, located at 224 N. Center Street in Westminster, will temporarily move some of its operations to a different location in Westminster beginning Monday, April 1, 2024. The multi-service center building will undergo a multiphase HVAC renovation that is expected to last until early fall. The building will remain open at this time with core services continuing in the building while other services will temporarily relocate; some services will offer an in-person or virtual option.
Customer service and activities will vary depending on the service including:
- The resource center, including assessment and computer labs, job fairs, and most job assistance services will continue operations seamlessly in its current location with walk-ins welcome – no changes.
- Administrative, training, and case management staff will relocate to 115 Stoner Avenue in Westminster. Services and one-on-one appointments will continue with in-person and virtual options.
- Unemployment workshops will be held at the main County Office Building at 225 N. Center Street in Westminster. Information will be provided to customers when they are notified of a workshop.
- Carroll Community College Adult Education and ESOL classes will be held on at the main community college campus. For these services, please call 410-386-3630.
New Customer Orientation
Individual orientation will continue daily; call 410-386-2820 to arrange a time for a new customer orientation and job search assistance. Staff will thoroughly explain center services and begin providing resources to help.
Visiting the Center
The center is open to anyone for self-directed job search anytime during normal operating hours. CCWD is open Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
“We are excited for this renovation project which will modernize our facility for the benefit of our customers,” said Manager Heather Powell. “We are planning diligently to minimize the disruptions and adapt during this temporary inconvenience to maintain our level of service excellence and ensure all those who need workforce services are successfully accommodated.”
