The Board of Commissioners of Carroll County is committed to a comprehensive economic development plan.  As an integral component of local government, the Department of Economic Development partners with many local and regional organizations to grow the commercial/industrial base and maintain Carroll’s excellent quality of life.

Regional Partners

Maryland Department of Commerce helps to market Carroll County along with the rest of the State and provides business start-up resources, infrastructure and workforce investment capital for qualified expanding firms, and international business assistance.

The Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore supports Carroll County and the region through research, marketing and business development.

Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing & Regulation provides businesses, the workforce and the public with customer-focused regulatory and employment and training services.

SBDC links private enterprise, government, higher education and local economic development organizations to provide high-quality training, confidential consulting and market and industry research to Maryland’s small businesses.

Carroll’s Business Associations

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce creates opportunities for its members to build relationships with professionals, business owners, and community leaders from Carroll County, MD and surrounding areas.

The Carroll Technology Council provides technology leadership, information, and resources to develop members’ businesses, build strong community partnerships, and advance technology in Carroll County, MD.

The Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce supports and promotes businesses and professional services in the Greater Mt. Airy area.

The Hampstead Merchants Association represents the merchants and professional community of Hampstead. The Association works to enhance commerce and to improve the accessibility and appearance of Hampstead.

The Manchester Area Merchant’s Association promotes area businesses and supports the Manchester community.

Mt. Airy Main Street strives to establish the Mt. Airy Downtown Historic Business District as a gathering place and center of community life, promote commerce for local businesses, sponsor cultural events for residents and visitors, and create a small town destination that is easily accessible by car, bike, and foot.

 

South Carroll Business Association’s mission is to create business opportunities, referrals and partnerships for its members and to support community outreach activities through education and involvement.  The SCBA offers monthly luncheons, networking events, the South Carroll Business Showcase and Members Plus Program.

The Downtown Sykesville Connection works to strengthen Sykesville’s economic potential as a Maryland Main Street community.

The Taneytown Chamber’s mission is to strengthen, promote and lead the business and economic community, to support the free enterprise system while preserving and enhancing the quality of the business environment as a best-in-class organization, and to promote education among our members and member businesses.

Through the Union Bridge Business Association, members work together to successfully create and promote opportunities in a civic environment in which businesses flourish.
