New arrivals feel right at home discovering the attraction of strawberry or peach festivals in the spring and oyster and ham suppers in the fall. Every May through August, volunteer fire companies sponsor community carnivals and parades.
Carroll County's unique main streets are popular sites for a variety of celebrations held throughout the year. Spring ushers in the Jazz and Flower Mart to showcase the early blooms of the season. During the summer, adults and children gather to watch the Independence Day parades and fireworks. Fallfests are held in several towns to celebrate the harvest season. In December, shoppers are beckoned back downtown enchanted by quaint shops and the seasonal display of lights.
Never forgetting its roots, the community recognizes agriculture's vital role. The Carroll County Farm Museum provides a glimpse into the farming practices of yesteryear. It is also the site of many cultural events including art & music fairs and the Maryland Wine Festival.
The Ag Center is home to Carroll's renowned farmers' markets, where shoppers sample the season's best produce while browsing through unique craft exhibits.
