Carroll Hospital Center illustrates the best in community, non-profit health care. Founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, this expanding medical institution is a non-profit, acute care facility offering comprehensive services including, inpatient, outpatient and community programs. In December 2003, the hospital opened its' new Emergency Department featuring state-of-the-art equipment and more than twice the space. Additionally, the center is completing construction on a new "bed tower" which will increase patient capacity and aid in the hospitals mission to provide the latest in medical technology and increase its highly skilled medical staff.

Our location also allows for close access to state-of-the-art medical facilities. The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center serves as a model for emergency care, while Johns Hopkins Hospital remains one of the most renowned health care facilities in the world.
