Max & Ruffy's locates in Carroll County
Max & Ruffy’s, a family-owned company, has moved into 20,000 square feet at 1201 New Windsor Road in Carroll County.
Beth Grace and Kelly Raiser’s love for dogs inspired them to establish Max & Ruffy’s in 2009 in Arlington, VA. The company manufactures natural and organic treats for pets, doing business under the names of A. Coyote Manufacturing, Red Fox Naturals, BFF Bones, and Petya. The company offers a selection of eco-friendly, dog treats using fresh 100% organic, non-genetically modified organisms (non-GMO), and human-grade ingredients.
“We chose Carroll County because the facility was perfect for our manufacturing needs and we consider Carroll County a wonderful location. We look forward to being a part of the Westminster community,” said Kelly Raiser.
Max and Ruffy’s worked with the Small Business Administration to secure a loan for the expansion of the business. The facility will be operational in early November and, by spring 2016, the company expects to employ 20 people.
Dennis Frazier, District 3 County Commissioner, stated, “The global pet food industry is a $58 billion industry that is expected to grow to over $74.8 billion by 2017. The production and sale of organic products is a rapidly growing segment of this industry. We appreciate the confidence that the owners, Beth Grace and Kelly Raiser, have placed in our community as a conducive and supportive location for the expansion of their business.”
