Carroll Community College offers two
Basic Blueprint Reading for Machinists
Master the basics of print interpretations using the latest ANSI standards. Both beginners and experienced machinists will benefit from instructional coverage of progressively difficult topics, such as: the alphabet of lines, orthographic projection, arrangement of views, application of dimensions and tolerances, machining processes and more. Course also includes many opportunities for learning to sketch objects. Text and materials included in cost.

Fundamentals of GD&T: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is an essential tool for communicating design intent, ensuring that parts made from technical drawings have the desired form, fit, function and interchangeability. By providing uniformity in drawing specifications and interpretation, GD&T takes the guesswork out of the manufacturing process which improves quality, lowers costs and shortens deliveries times. This 45-hour course, using the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Y14.5 2009 standard, addresses the features of size, datum references and degrees
of freedom, composite position tolerances, surface boundaries and axis methods of interpretation and symbology. Text and materials included in cost.
- Cost: $690
- Course #: VOC474
- Tuesday & Thursday, April 9 - May 30 (15 sessions)
- 6 - 9:15 p.m.
